1) Unhook all outside hoses from house. 2) Clean and secure gutters and downspouts. 3) Clean and service furnace and change air filter. 4) Check windows and doorways for air leaks. 5) Winterize sprinkler system. 6) Trim trees and bushes away from house. 7) Make sure sump pump is in working order. 8) Clean fireplace including chimney.
